Kigali On 18th October 2023 morning, a National Public Service Commission delegation met with Kigali Independent University and ULK Polytechnic Institute students, to enlighten and sensitise them on the public service recruitment process.
Opening this meeting, the ULK Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr NKUNDABATWARE Innocent urged students to take this important meeting as an opportunity as they are preparing to enter into the labour market.
Mr. Wellars KANYEBENJA, the delegation lead, shared the historical background that lead to the creation of the National Public Service Commission–subsequently the E-Recruitment platform– was the bad leadership in Rwanda prior to 1994. The commission is one of the main pillars of the Rwandan Government’s plan to improve service delivery across government institutions.
“Among our responsibilities, we verify whether public institutions recruit staff using transparent and equitable candidate selection system, and analyse reports on staff recruitment competitions organised by public institutions and placement of staff, and of course we verify whether public institutions comply with laws, regulations and decisions relating to the management of public servants.” He added.
