Gisenyi, Rubavu District — Kigali Independent University ULK was recently awarded a certificate of collaboration in recognition of its steadfast, open‑door support for the Association of Liberians in Gisenyi. The honor was presented during a vibrant inauguration ceremony of new Liberian community leaders and a celebration of the outgoing committee’s service.
The event, held in Gisenyi, honored both incoming and outgoing students’ leaders, many of whom study at ULK Gisenyi and its neighboring University of Tourism and Business (UTB) Gisenyi campus. Representing ULK’s Gisenyi campus administrative leadership, Ms. Uwera Mamy accepted the certificate on behalf of ULK’s Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academics, highlighting the university’s commitment to regional and cultural integration.
Outgoing Committee’s President W. Praise Blayuefloh, delivered heartfelt remarks. He expressed profound gratitude for the “collaborative environment” fostered by both ULK and UTB, stating that it helped Liberian students feel “loved, secure, highly considered and appreciated” within the local community.
